The McPherson suspension is the combination of the swing arm suspension and candlelight suspension. Compared with the double wishbone suspension, the advantages of the McPherson suspension are compact structure, small changes in front wheel alignment parameters when the wheels are bouncing, good handling stability, and convenience for the arrangement of the engine and steering system due to the cancellation of the upper wishbone; compared with the candlelight suspension, the lateral force on its sliding column has been greatly improved. McPherson suspension is mostly used in the front suspension of small and medium-sized cars. The front suspension of Porsche 911, domestic Audi, Santana, Xiali, Fukang and other cars are all McPherson independent suspension. Although the McPherson suspension is not the most technical suspension structure, it is still a durable independent suspension with strong road adaptability.
What is the double wishbone suspension like
Double wishbone suspension is also called Double A-arm independent suspension. The double wishbone suspension has two upper and lower wishbones. The lateral force is absorbed by two wishbones at the same time. The strut only carries the weight of the body, so the lateral stiffness is large. The upper and lower A-arms of the double wishbone suspension can accurately locate various parameters of the front wheel. When the front wheel turns, the upper and lower wishbones can simultaneously absorb the lateral force of the tire. In addition, the lateral rigidity of the two wishbones is large, so the turning roll is small. The double wishbone suspension usually adopts the upper and lower unequal wishbones (the upper short and the lower long), so that the wheel can automatically change the camber angle when it moves up and down, reduce the wheel track change and reduce the tire wear, and can adapt to the road surface, with large tire ground area and good adhesion. The longitudinal arm type independent suspension refers to the suspension structure with wheels swinging in the longitudinal plane of the vehicle, which is divided into single longitudinal arm type and double longitudinal arm type. The caster angle of the kingpin will change greatly when the wheels of the single wishbone suspension are jumping up and down, so the single wishbone suspension is not used on the steering wheel. The two swing arms of the double wishbone suspension are generally made of equal length, forming a parallel four-bar structure, so that the caster angle of the kingpin remains unchanged when the wheels are jumping up and down. Multi link suspension, through various connecting rod configurations (usually three links, four links and five links), can realize all the performances of the double wishbone suspension first, and then on the basis of the double wishbone, the toe angle of the tire can also be changed when the tire moves up and down through the constraint of the connecting rod connecting shaft, which means that the adaptability of the curve is better if it is used in the The front suspension of the front drive can alleviate the understeer to a certain extent and bring people the feeling of precise steering; if it is used in the rear suspension, it can change the toe of the rear wheel under the effect of steering roll, which means that the rear wheel can turn with the front wheel to a certain extent, so as to achieve the purpose of comfortable control. Like the double wishbone, the multi link suspension also needs more space, and the multi link suspension has the highest manufacturing cost and R & D cost, so it is commonly used in the rear axle of medium and high-grade vehicles. So in general, the most economical and applicable front independent suspension with the highest cost performance is McPherson, and the suspension with high performance adjustment and matching is multi link and double wishbone. The most complex structure is multi link. But because the latter two make their quality heavier in structure, in order to achieve better response speed, they are usually made of aluminum alloy, so the cost can be imagined.
What are the benefits of air suspension
It is the most advanced vehicle suspension system so far.
